trumpery

trumpery old use noun (pl. trumperies) things that are superficially  attractive or appealing but have little real worth.

A son or daughter of Hitler, if endowed with the campaign funds of a trump, could have stolen that election.  The opposition was, in fact, so tainted by its own incompetence and corruption, that even the massive positive of its being headed by a woman, couldn’t save its campaign.

I sat having breakfast, accompanied by lighthearted banter with two fine, black gentlemen seated near to my table.  The look of incredulity on their faces whilst listening to the trump acceptance speech must have matched my own.  The fake-tanned fraud pontificated on about rebuilding unity , making America great again* whilst pretending to empathise with working class america who had, let’s face it, put him in this position.

This, from a misogynistic racist and a sexual predator, who had never worked a day in his privileged, coiffured life , and had never had, or will ever have, an ounce of class.

* This election is the nadir of America’s once much vaunted power.
